About Us

A Sanskrit Conference has been meeting every year since May 2005, at the Faculty of Religious Studies of McGill University. The language of the conference is Sanskrit. The aim of this conference is to promote Sanskrit as a living language. Submission is open to all scholars and students of Sanskrit, and to anyone who wants to speak in that language. There is no registration fee associated with the conference. Speakers may choose a topic of their choice and give a presentation for twenty minutes, leaving ten minutes for discussion. The conference does not cover travel expenses, but does provide local hospitality. Those who wish to participate in the conference may send a five-sentence abstract in Sanskrit to the persons indicated in the “Contact Us” section of this website.
